Anti-Inflammatory Elixir
I am a huge fan of turmeric! With loads of anti-inflammatory properties and pungent flavor it makes a perfect drink….. as well as being amazingly awesome in recipes. I had always just used the dried version but found little knobby chunks of turmeric fresh at the grocery store. They look root like and have a skin similar to ginger. To add a little warmth and comfort to your whole body care routine try this elixir below. Once a day, twice a day, or sip on it all day!!
Crush one inch of both ginger and turmeric with the back of a spoon or mortar and pestle being sure to get it all smoothy. Place the smooshed contents in a teapot or large mason jar with half a lemon to steep for at least 15 minutes. Add a pinch of allspice for even more oomph. Great for achy joints and muscles! Paired with an adult coloring book, especially this one with affirmations, makes a perfect chill night!
